Medeama SC recorded their first win of the seaosn on the road at the hostile Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale where they secured a slim 1-0 victory over Real Tamale United(RTU) in their match week seven(7) clash on Sunday afternoon.
The Mauve and Yellow have endured a miserable start to the season recording only their second win of the campaign in Tamale after six matches.
Head Coach Umar Abdul Rabi named an unchanged starting eleven to the side that held King Faisal to a goalless draw in their last outing and his selection eventually paid off with the narrow win.
Young attacker Patrick Ansu grabbed the only goal of the game in the 18th minute after veteran striker Ahmed Toure sent a pass into his path before he calmly slotted home to give his side a 1-0 lead in the game.
However, RTU will rue their profligacy in front of goal as they had numerous opportunities to have drawn level.
The usually reliable David Abagna Sandan was kept at bay by the Medeama backline as he was not afforded no breathing space to run from midfield to strike at goal as he usually does.
It is the first defeat suffered by RTU at their fitness- the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
The newly promoted side will next travel to Kumasi to face Kotoko whiles Medeama play Legon Cities at the Akoon Park.
