Resurrection: Ghana Coach C.K Akonnor recalls ‘Old Waddeys’ as four experienced players return for Sudan Clash.

Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor has given fresh hopes to 4 players of the National team after a long absence.

The Four, who have been absent from the Black Stars ranging from 12 to 24 months will reunite with the current squad for the AFCON 2022 double clash Qualifier against Sudan in Cape Coast and Khartoum.

John Boye, Captain of French ligue 1 side Metz returns to the Black Stars for the first time in more than 1 year after he missed the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

He has between the period seen his Metz side play and Qualify from the French ligue 2 to the top level.

Columbus Crew right back Harrison afful returns to the team for the first time in two years after injuries forced him to miss many call ups from former Coach Kwesi Appiah.

Chelsea defender Baba Rahman also makes a come back to the team after battling several injuries after the 2019 AFCON, he has failed to get to the Chelsea team A, but a recent game time with the second team has given him the recall.

Midfield combatant, Mubarak Wakaso makes a return to the team after missing the two international friendlies against Mali and Qatar.

Wakaso was part of the Stars team that played in the 2019 AFCON, and his inclusion is seen as part of the Coaches philosophy of blending new players with the old.

Coach Akonnor expressed optimism in his call up and believes these experience players will offer instant Solutions to the Black Stars problems.
