Former Ghana International Abubakari Damba insisted the woeful performance of the Black Satellites at the ongoing AFCON U20 Championship should be used as a starting point for team building ahead of the next tournament.
The retired custodian blamed the leadership of Ghana football for lack of direction and tasked the administrative wings to develop an eye opener from the dreadful performance of the U20 team.
Ghana suffered a disappointing 1-0 at the hands of Mali to bid farewell to FIFA U20 world Cup to be staged in Poland after earlier on slipping to a 2-0 against Senegal.
Abubakari Damba, one of Ghana’s most respected shot stoppers at his time, however blamed the leadership of Ghana football and suggested that Asante Kotoko SC shot stopper, Danladi Ibrahim, should have kept the past for the Satellites at Niger.
“Black Satellites elimination from the ongoing U20 Africa Youth Championship is an eye opener to Ghana football and we must sit up and do the right thing”, Abubakari Damba opined.
He added, “Danladi Ibrahim should been the Black Satellites first choice goal keeper at the U20 Championship”.
Ghanaians have descended heavily on the management of the National U20 team for failing to book a place at the 2019 FIFA U20 world Cup.
