Legon Cities on Thursday beat Hearts of Oak to the signing of Nigerien striker Victorien Adebayor on loan till the end of the ongoing season with a 1-year option to sign him permanently which will cost them around $125000.
The soccer millionaires have splashed a whooping $30000 to lure the former Inter Allies Star man Victorian Adebayor Zakari back to the domestic top-flight following his return from Denmark where he signed for HB Koge.
A source close to the camp of the player tells Oyerepa Sports the agent of the Nigerien wasn’t ready to do business with the Phobians because of treatment meted out to colleague players like Ademola Kuti and Mamane Lawali who is injured but “ignored” by Hearts of Oak, interestingly all 3 players are with the same agency.
The source further revealed that the agent has tried getting Hearts of Oak to help Lawali go under the knife but this has proved futile with Ademola Kuti also left to his fate by the Ghanaian club.
Adebayor is expected to be unveiled by the Royals before the start of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
