Richard Boadu Dedicates First Medeama Career Goal To His ‘Legendary’ Mother

Medeama SC Midfield star Richard Boadu scored his first Ghana Premier League goal for Medeama in their 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko on Saturday at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

The combative midfielder capped an impressive run of play after his deflected shot handed the Mauve and Yellow a precious 2-1 win over the Porcupine Warriors.

However, in an interview with Kumasi-based Gye Nyame FM, Boadu dedicated his goal to his mother, Mrs Adwoa Dorcas who has held him up till today.

“The goal I scored was my first league goal at Medeama and it was against a big team like Kotoko so the feeling was very huge”

“I dedicate the goal to my mother, Mrs Adwoa Dorcas”

“I become very emotional talking about my mother anytime I’m asked a question about her. She has really helped me a lot, a single mother raising six children with the little she gets from selling food hasn’t been easy. Her prayers and support has been massive”

“During my first division days, she was the one buying me boots and still feeding me. She is my legend”

The Kumasi-born midfielder has combined effectively with injured Justice Blay and now Eric Kwakwa and Rashid Nortey in the middle of the park for the Yellow and Mauves this season.

The intelligent midfielder is a massive talent and weapon for the two-time FA Cup winners as they continue to fight in our Premier League title ambition this term.
