Maritzburg United goalkeeper Richard Ofori is elated with the return of the South African top-flight.
The ABSA Premier League makes a return next week after a five-month break due to COVID -19.
Prior to the break, Ofori was one of the brightest spots for the “team of choice” helping them to occupy the fifth spot on the table.
The Ghana International was also regarded one of the best goalkeepers in the PSL.
Ofori cannot wait for the imminent return of the League and hopes his side finish in a good position at the end of the season.
“I feel great that the league has resumed because we missed the action and it also gives the teams a chance to fight for their own destiny, like getting promoted from the lower leagues, qualifying for MTN8 and winning the league,” the Ghana number one told maritzburgunited.co.za
“The team is very strong and solid because we have been training individually during the lockdown but we need to start smart because of match fitness and hopefully finish the season in a good position,” Ofori continued.
“Of course, we can finish the season strong because we are highly motivated after our great start to the season. We have worked very hard since the start so we shall finish strong.”
The 26-year-old however remains a target for top South African sides with Orlando Pirates said to have made contacts with Maritzburg United for a possible signing of the former Ghana U20 shot-stopper.
