Asante Kotoko legend Joe Carr has urged the technical team of his former club to help in rotating the goalkeepers per match to keep them active.
Carr, a former Reds goalkeepers trainer asserts that the goalkeepers trainer decision will ensure better performance by the team.
”As an experienced goalkeeper and a trainer, I think a great club as Asante Kotoko has to clearly define to the goalkeepers their first, second and third choice” Carr told Gye Nyame Fm.
”If the first choice goalkeeper returns from national assignment, the second choice goalkeeper can still be used to avoid the circumstance where the Blackstars goalkeeper will be injured and the rest cannot live up to expectation because they have become rusty due to lack of playing time”
“During my time at Kotoko, I met three other great goalkeepers but each had enough playing time” he added.
“At times even if the first choice goalkeeper is not injured, you can drop him just to keep the others active to avoid rustiness” Carr concluded.
Asante Kotoko’s next game is against Berekum Chelsea at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.
