Former Hearts of Oak and Kotoko winger Charles Taylor has ask the Ghana Football Association to desist from begging some players to join the Black Stars.
Over the years, several players have been convinced by the GFA join the senior national team.
Recently there’s been a back and forth between the FA and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu who has turned down several call ups due to personal reason.
Charles Taylor speaking on Kumasi based Akoma FM says it’s about time we stop trying to convince players to join the Black Stars.
“We should call players who are committed to the Black Stars. We don’t need to beg players to play for the Stars. Commitment to the nation should be a priority. When i got my call to the National Team, i didn’t sleep the whole night. I was upbeat about joining the team. We should not waste time to beg players who are not committed to our course.”
The Black Stars have qualified for the World Cup in Qatar and are in the same group together with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
