Talent Pool: Meet The Top FIVE Stars Produced By Asokwa Deportivo

Ashanti region based Asorkor Deportivo FC is usually dubbed the Ajax Amsterdam of Ghanaian football with a pool of players rising through the ladder in recent years. The second tier side stole the media traffic with their consistent production of fine footballers with limited resources. From Kwadwo Asamoah Asamoah to Emmanuel Gyamfi, here are the top five stars produced by Asorkor Deportivo in recent years.

Kwadwo Asamoah, Italy

Kwadwo Asmaoah rose through the ranks of Asorkor Deportivo in the infantile stages of his football career and is currently a six times Italian Serie A winner. The versatile forward has been deployed as a lateral defender, wing back or advanced winger throughout his career. He is undoubtedly the flagship player from Asorkor Deportivo.

Joel Famaye, Belarus

When Joel Famaye starting banging in goals for fun many thought it was sheer luck until he started breaking records in the national division one league. The exploits of the then teen sensation saw him joining the various national teams and is currently winning individual glories on yearly basis in the Belarusian top tier.

Emmanuel Gyamfi, Asante Kotoko SC

When Wa All Stars FC acquired the services of Emmanuel Gyamfi from Asorkor Deportivo FC, fans of the game doubted the class of the speedster. Three iconic seasons at the Wa Malik Jabir Park turned heads on as the wing maestro left his mark to earn a dream offer from Asante Kotoko SC.

Appiah McCarthy, Ashgold SC

Arguably one of the finest midfielders on the local scene and beyond, Appiah McCarthy needs no introduction if you follow the Ghana Premier league. The lanky enforcer dismantled opponents in the second tier and at the inter-regional level to earn a bumper offer from Ashgold SC. He is currently part of the much heralded trinity of midfielders that included James Akaminko and Latif Anabila.

Issahaku Konda, Austria

Issahaku Konda enjoyed a rugged start to his career as a footballer with some unconvincing form at the infantile stages of his career. A dream promotion to the top tier of Ghana football with Wa All Stars during the 2015 GHPL season, paved way for the Ghanaian pundits to access Issahaku Konda. The former Asorkor Deportivo will later evolved into a modern day centre half. He later captained the Black Satellites of Ghana and is currently in Austria playing his professional career.
