Tema Youth President Osei Parmer dashes Republicans ₵1000 for winning juvenile gala

Tema Youth President Wilfred Osei Kwaku, popularly known as Parmer, has dashed out ₵1000 to Tamale-based colts club Republicans for emerging winners of a juvenile gala organized recently in the Northern Region.

Real Republicans were crowned champions of the one day juvenile gala after beating Tamale Metro Eleven through a marathon penalty shoot out following a goalless draw game played at the Tamale Kaladan Park on Saturday afternoon.

The one day gala competition was organized under the auspices of former GFA executive committee member Wilfred Osei Parma in collaboration with both Tamale Metro and Sagnarigu Municipal football Associations aimed at promoting grassroots football and unearthing untapped talents found in the area.

The GFA presidential hopeful Osei Parma was present at Kaladan Park to witness the final game in the company of former ExCo members J. F. Mensah and Nanabanyin Ben Eyison.

Having been impressed with the performance and standards of play in the competition by the young lads, Mr. Osei Parma and his team from southern part of Ghana presented a glittering trophy plus ₵1000 cash to Republicans for winning the competition.

Tamale Metro Eleven, runners up of the gala competition were awarded with ₵500 cash.

The winners and runners up were also both given two set of training bids.

Each semifinalist was given two (2) balls in addition to one ball each given to 14 participants in the gala tournament.

Tamale Metro and Sagnarigu Municipal Football Associations were not also left out as they were presented with 4 balls each.

As part of efforts by Osei Parma to support education of sports personnel, an undisclosed amount was donated to young referee Mariam Alhassan to further her education at the University of Development Studies after gaining admission to the institution.

Osei Parma and his team also recognised contributions by Northern region’s retired footballers Association towards their development and growth of juvenile football in the region, with financial aid to support their union.
