Agent of Black Satellites player Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Prince Umar has cleared the air on his player’s rumored transfer with Swiss side FC Basel.
Fatawu became a household name in Ghana following his brilliant performance in the just ended U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
According to reports in the Ghanaian media, the Swiss top-flight league club in its proposal are keen to acquire the youngster for a whooping amount of $1 million.
However, speaking to a media outlet, Prince Umar Ibrahim said; “I am seriously surprised where the news is coming from, that is completely untrue”
“I can tell you that indeed, we have received a lot of offers for Fatawu after the U-20 AFCON in Mauritania but I can also tell you that FC Basel is not one of those clubs we are in talks with,’” he added.
The budding attacker was adjudged the Most Valuable Player at the tournament after helping the West African nation clinch the title.
Fatawu has been handed a late call-up to the Senior National Team Black Stars ahead of the two remaining Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and Principe.
