Thomas Partey Nominated For BBC African Footballer Of The Year

In-form Ghana international Thomas Teye Partey has been nominated for the 2018 BBC African Footballer of the year after an impeccable campaign with Atletico Madrid in Spain.
The Wonda Metropolitano based enforcer joins an elite class of nominees led by Liverpool’s attacking duo of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane with Mehdi Bennatia and Napoli’s Khalidou Koulibaly.
Thomas Partey starred prominently across the 2017/18 european season led by the UEFA Europa league crown and the European super cup under his name.
The Ghanaian import will be battling Mohammed Salah, whose 45 goals returned Liverpool to the UEFA Champions league finals whiles the nimble footed Sadio Mane is set to offer stronger competition heading into the final three.
Partey joins a long list of Ghanaian players to have been nominated by BBC for the annual awards with Micheal Essien, Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew , Samuel Osei Kuffuor and Abedi Pele.
Mohammed Salah is the reigning title holder and Andre Ayew is the last Ghanaian player to have won the trophy some 7 years ago.
