Ghana U23 head coach Ibrahim Tanko expects hat trick hero Kwabena Owusu to maintain his scoring form for Ghana’s U23 side ahead of the second leg of the clash as Ghana treks to Togo over the weekend.
The Salamanca UDS forward displayed a stupendous performance to inspire the Black Meteors to a 5-1 win over their Togolese counterparts in the first leg of the U23 AFCON qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
Owusu whose magnificent display stole the show at the empty Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be expected to carry the side on his shoulders as the two sides clash on Sunday in the second leg.
Tanko applauded Owusu’s output and hopes it continues.
“Everyone saw him grab such fantastic hat trick and we hope it continues like that,” Tanko told 442gh.com after the game.
Ghana’s qualification to the next stage looks certain as Gabon waits anxiously for the final clash on March next year.
