Former Wa Suntaa SC trainer Kandumah John has questioned the Ghana FA’s knee jerk approach to the woes of the Black Stars trainer with hurriedly formed appointment committee.
The hugely revered trainer, who unleashed a 19-game run to seal division one league qualification for Wa Suntaa SC, was surprised at the Ghana FA’s decision to form an appointment committee without the actual team members of the yet-to-be appointed trainer.
In his usual educative post on social media, Kandumah John asked the GFA some fundamental questions led by the absence of the Black Stars management committee members on the three man appointment committee named by the Blacks.
“Is our Technical Director not capable to act as an interim coach whiles we take our time to look for a long term replacement to CK?
I don’t doubt the competency of any of the three member committee put in place to search for CK’s replacement. But what am struggling to understand is why no member of the Black Stars Management Committee is in the Committee. As if the exclusion of members of the Management Committee is not enough, the Technical Director has been left out.
- Will the new coach work with the Black Stars Management Committee?
- Will he be reporting to the Technical Director?
I feel this panic search for a coach might end us up in getting an ad-hoc solution rather than a permanent one. Our Football needs a total revolution”, the young trainer opined.
On the trophy table, Kandumah John remains one of the most celebrated in the northern belt of Ghana with some iconic achievements both at club level and at the national schools and colleges festivals.
He led upper west to its elusive gold medal in football at the national second cycle games staged in Bolga, won bronze with the Basic School in Koforidua, won another Bronze in Tamale in 2005 to add to his unique records with Wa Suntaa SC.
At the regional level, he has lost just one league game in the Division II since 2016 and is currently on another promotion mission with Wa United FC.
He was contacted to salvage the then sinking Wa Suntaa SC from the jaws of relegation, a job he effectively delivered.
His flagship discoveries so far include Abu Ushau of Berekum Chelsea, Micheal Dwamena of WAFA SC, Abdulai Samadu, Dennis Votere of Ashgold SC and other such players in the topflight of Ghana football.
