WAFU 2019: Ghana miss opportunity to defend trophy through pissy poor penalty kicks.

Ghana’s Black Stars B failed to defend the WAFU cup they won in 2015 and 2017 when they lost on penalties to a much fancied Senegalese side on penalties.

Poor penalty kicks from Fatawu Mohammed, Augustine Okrah, and Justice Blay ensured Senegal run away with the trophy.

The Black Stars B led by Coach Maxwell Konadu fought from a goal down in the 106th minute when Senegal’s Badji took advantage of a defensive flop from the Ghanaians to slot in from close range at extra time.

The Ghanaians responded quickly with Joseph Esso who had laboured all day without a goal, Esso took advantage of a defensive lapse to shop into goal.

The Black Stars B got into the final of the competition after beating Ivory coast by 3-1 in the semi Finals.
