The Board Chairman of Medeama Sporting Club, Dr Anthony Aubynn, says they were saddened by Coach Boadu’s departure.
Coach Boadu, who was appointed in 2017, resigned from his position with some months on his existing contract with the Mauve and Yellow remaining.
The U-15 coach cited personal reasons for his surprise resignation, barely hours after supervising the team’s 2-0 win over Eleven Wonders at the Akoon Park.
The highly-rated tactician successfully made them title contenders in his 4 years tenure.
Stunned at the coach’s resignation, Dr Aubynn revealed that the club was saddened by Coach Boadu’s departure because they have built a certain rapor with him.
”I met him some two weeks before his resignation and informed him about our decision to support him with a technical director which he welcomed it” – Dr Aubynn told Kumasi-based Gye Nyame FM on Thursday.
”It’s all good because he said he wants a bigger club to enrich his CV so we wish him very well, we have no regrets for having him leave”
“We think he should have left in a different way but every individual has his right to move and take a decision. Every individual will leave when there’s an offer improving his salary” he added.
“He could have gone later than now because of how things had turn around. We believe he could have won the league before leaving nonetheless we wish him well” he concluded.
Boadu’s sudden decision to part ways with the club came on the heels of some impressive performances in recent league matches, including double victories against Elmina Sharks and Eleven Wonders in the ongoing league.
