We outwitted WAFA tactically – Paa Kwesi Fabin

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin says his tactical game plan of crowding out West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in the middle and playing on the counter worked to perfection as he grabbed his second away win in two games since taking over as Coach of Aduana Stars.

The Dormaa based side produced a match winning display away at Sogakope and grabbed a narrow 1 – 0 courtesy their hit man Yahaya Mohammed at a venue that rarely offers visiting teams any chance of victory.

Reacting to the win at WAFA, Paa Kwesi Fabin credited the two teams for a good display of football but emphasized his team’s approach to the game was tactically superior.

“I think the two teams did not disappoint the fans that came to watch the game and I will say that both teams played very well.  The one who took the chance won the day”

“We realized that WAFA can keep the ball and we needed to park the midfield and close them down anytime they had the ball. We were able to frustrate them and they were just kicking the ball. I think that our strategy of containing them in the middle and taking them on the break worked and we got that goal.”

The National U-23 trainer has led the defending league champions to two away wins against Dreams FC and WAFA and a home draw against Ashgold since he took over as head coach.
