Karela United talisman Diawisie Taylor says their aim was to win against Hearts of Oak but says the draw is a good result for them ahead of their next league match.
The experienced player was adjudged man of the match as the Ayinase based club drew 1-1 at home.
Taylor pushed in more efforts to grab a win for his side but his fighting spirit wasn’t up to standard.
“We had it at the back of our minds that we haven’t won a match in the second round so we decided to beat Hearts of Oak here because we have always been doing quite well whenever we play at home if you check the records,’ he said in a post-match interview.
“We had wanted to set a record here by beating them but I think the draw is very good for us and will spur us on in our next game.”
Karela United play King Faisal next in the Ghana Premier League.
