Black Queens Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has expressed her frustration about what looks like neglect from football authorities towards women’s football.
The former National star is unhappy with the kind of treatment metted out to women’s football especially with the Black Queens team.
Mercy Tagoe’s work as Black Queens Coach have been made difficult as her team lucks motivation.
The Black Queens team face off in a crucial Africa Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria but luck friendly games to prepare adequately to face the Africa Champions next month.
The luck of remuneration has hugely affected the Black Queens team over the years.
Unlike their male counterparts (Black Stars) who would always be camped in plush and luxurious hotels and receive huge bonuses for national assignments, the Queens had to rely on the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence which cannot boast of the best of facilities. In addition they will also had to chase for their bonuses after any assignment.
The Coach is however not pleased with how things are handled when it comes to women’s football in the country.
“We do this today then we go and sleep, the next time when we wake up we think we can get there,”she said.
“We are joking trust me we are joking.when you sleep others will wake up and do it for you.”
Black Queens captain Elizabeth Addo has been suspended from the National team until further notice after calling on football authorities to organize international friendlies for the team.
