Asante Kotoko Coach Mariano Barreto has expressed worry after going level on points with Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier league.
The Portuguese trainer believes hos side had an advantage, and needed to protect it by winning their game against WAFA in Obuasi.
Mr Barreto told StarTimes losing the advantage make their season a bery long one having to fight to get back their point lead.
Asante Kotoko had led rivals Accra Hearts of Oak by 2 points going into match week 26, but a win for the Phobians, and the subsequent draw by Kotoko means the two giants go into week 27 same points.
”We have lost the advantage that we have. We are on the same points with Hearts. It will be a long journey”.
The former Ghana Black Stars coach has now left his hopes of winning the Ghanaian championship on the remaining 8 games to bohnce back
”We have eight matches and we have to learn with what happens and try to prepare for the next match”.
Kotoko’s next match is against Aduana Stars, a known strong opponent for the Porcupines, the Dormaa based side shocked Kotoko in Accra when they defeated them by a lone goal in the first round.
